The Olympics are finally upon us. How are you enjoying them? The above image has to be one of my favourite so far and brings a huge smile out on my face. I love it that the organisers of the Olympic torch route thought that perhaps the flame would like to take a jog around the maze at Hampton Court Palace. We've heard the phrase 'only in Britain' quite a lot since the opening ceremony, with journalists around the world commenting that 'only in Britain' would you hear the Sex Pistols during an Olympic opening ceremony and for me, the trip around the maze needs to be firmly added to that list!
Not only does Hampton Court Palace boast its own maze, it also has some stunning gardens. However if you're not able to come and see them for yourself but are in Scotland, or perhaps heading that way for your summer holiday, then you may like to stop off at Portrack House in order to wander around the amazing gardens there.
If that's not possible, then how about turning your own outside space into a wonderland? Outdoor fairy lights and traditional crockery can be used to create a magical atmosphere for a summer teaparty, with one of the benefits being that your table cloths/crockery etc do not necessarily need to match.
Now all that remains is to organise a tea party in the garden. Perhaps for the closing ceremony?
Enjoy the rest of the games!
