Rosemary Milner

Hi guys, hope you've all had a good week and have been enjoying the good weather! This week I discovered the work of British textile designer Rosemary Milner and thought you'd like to see some of her work. Rosemary, a recent graduate from Leeds Collage of Art, creates beautifully detailed prints with a traditional, rural feel. Her collection includes wallpaper, books and a large selection of fabric as well as a number of hand-embroidered pieces.

I think there's a great juxtaposition between vintage and modern in Rosemary's work which gives it charm. The mint green and pale pink harlequin wallpaper (above) is a good example of this and I think it's just fantastic. Also, the foxes which pop up throughout her work are bang on-trend and also super cute! To find out more about this talented lady visit her website where you can also see more examples of her work.

Now who wouldn't want to live in a house like this?

Finally the sun is shining, the days are getting longer and spring is here. What better way to celebrate than by planning for the season ahead with a few interior updates. Recently I've been inspired by the home of Norwegian based ceramic designer Silje Aune Eriksen.

I'm a fan of a calm, neutral colour palette and think the pops of pink and striking black interior accessories, (such as the skull in the first image) work really well with it. The wooden furniture and structural details keep this scheme linked to the natural world for me, as does the owl pillow and oven mitt. I wonder where she got them from? Let me know if you have any ideas. I have this beautiful Hummingbird pillow from the Natural History online store and would like an owl to keep them company. In the meantime I'm clicking over to this online store to take a further peek at Silje's ceramics. See you there?

Weekend Wishlist

On my shopping list this week is this beautiful glass bell jar from on-line retailer Ebury. I've always had an attraction to bell jars but have never found the perfect one. Too big, too small, the wrong base, no base, there always seems to be something amiss. This one, however, with it's beautiful dark wood base, recycled glass and solid shape has to be the nicest one I've found. On the wishlist it goes.
