It has become quite nippy here in Oxford (is this the time to direct you to Natural History's VERY cosy blankets, I wonder?) and I have been taking this very much into account as I consider new colours for the house. In addition to replacing some of our furniture, we are repainting the house in a couple of week's time and although much of it will probably remain white, I am making the effort to consider new colours with an open mind (including the fabulous apple green of Debo Devonshire's vicarage feature in World of Interiors a couple of months ago).
The colour that I am most attracted to in the face of all this frost is of course, pink. Warm, cosy, vibrant pink and I am wondering how this can best be employed (besides the cushions I was talking about the other day).
Which is not to suggest, of course, that pink cannot be deliciously applied in a white-wall situation - my daughter's bedroom has a series of pom-poms hanging over the bed in various pinks & turquoises from Pomlove on etsy, rather like these:
And what room would not be improved with a telephone like this one?
